COME MEET TEAM HIGH ROAD AT CUBBERLEY COMMNUNITY CENTER THEATRE ON FEBRUARY 15

Palo Alto, CA -- Join the pro-cyclists of Team High Road on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 2:00 pm at the Cubberley Theatre in Palo Alto to meet the top-ranked athletes who are taking on the Tour de France one leg at a time, beginning with the AMGEN Tour of California, which starts Sunday, Feb. 17th and will run from Palo Alto to Pasadena, California. The team presentation will be hosted by legendary cycling commentator Phil Liggett. Team High Road is the only US based ProTour team, which is the most elite level of cycling in the world.
What’s so special about Team High Road? The team is comprised of several of the world’s top, most respected and rising star cyclists including:
- Legendary 12-time Tour de France competitor George Hincapie
- Multiple Olympic medalist and current World Pursuit Champions Bradley Wiggins and Kate Bates
- Former World Champion Judith Arndt
- U.S. National Champion Mara Abbott
- Superstar sprinters Cavendish, Ciolek and Teutenberg who collectively won over 30 races this year
- Two-time World Cup Series winner Oenone Wood AND
- Recent winner of the Tour Down Under and current ProTour leader – Andre Greipel
In addition, Team High Road has taken a leadership role in anti-doping actions. This season they have implemented a new comprehensive and independent anti-doping program that is managed externally. They have been quoted by the sports governing body to be “a role model for other teams to follow.” The team is owned and operated by American Bob Stapleton from San Luis Obispo, California.
The team is based on the principles of clean and fair sport, personal commitment, and placing one’s goals beside those of the team. The mission is to create an environment of success for the athletes using the best methods, technology and personal development tools found across the world of the sport. Their goal is to make change happen, to win by fair means, and represent the best aspects of the professional sport of cycling.
